I am looking for guidelines/material/case studies/examples related to setting in place an organisation's core ideology (i.e.Mission and Values) . . . i..e not just having it articulated on paper, but more improtant, how does it get translated to reality and woven into the organisation's fabric. Can any one please help?

Similarly, can anyone help with material related to building an organisation's culture in sync with its values.

I think that may be you better start with Balanced Scorecard, there has been a lot of interaction on this in this group itself.

You can refer the book "CHANGE " a review from Harvard's Business School. They have very well explained what is Values / Vision of an Organization & how to articulate it from paper to practice.

Yes, its difficult to put it from  paper to practice, what i have learnt about this is that culture and values needs to be imbibed in the members of an organisation, its only possible only when HR ( plus the core team/line managers too) take orientation programmes or at the time of induction, on these values and ask people to share their experience or understanding on the same, also these values can be converted in booklets and could be given at the time of induction for new joinees and can be distributed to existing employee to practice it as much as possible and align the business and work objectives, these values can be framed and put at the passage areas of office or inside working
areas, one can have posters of these values too.
