Hello colleagues, I'm a staffing professional and we're currently exploring options of using networking websites like Linked In for purposes of talent search. Let me know your experiences in using this staffing strategy.

Hi Nicholas,

i think that you are not aware that social networking sites are one of the major sourcing channels now-a-days. LinkedIn, Facebook of HR and other sites are vey much professional sites where in you can from groups and post your openings. A lot of companies encourage the use of these social networking sites in their recruitment strategies. However, you should be careful while using some sites like orkut. But as a user, LinkedIn definitely is the right choice.

You can also find about some sites which could be useful. If you decide to include these sites within your processes, then you need to take several precautions:

Ensure that your recruiting officers are trained in equal opportunities.
Keep a paper trail and archive print-outs that you have used when assessing a candidate.
Review your policies and make it clear that only HR is allowed to consult online profiles.

Hope this will keep you going with good candidatures.
