I am doing a project on Attrition and Retention,  How fare will it be to say employee satisfaction is one of the key factor in Attrition and Retention.

Employee satisfaction is no doubt a major cause of atrition but there are other factors too which affects the rate of attrition

i m doing a project in a PSU(Thermal Power) and i ve chosen the topic - Various Reasons for Increasing Attrition Rate and Employee Dissatisfaction.

I need help regarding Reasons for attrition and remedies.

Employee satisfaction is a broader term used for the health of employee welfare in an organization. We need to understand that Employee satisfaction scores are compiled on various parameters i,e. 1. The Work environment, facilities provided. 2. The Supervisor - sub ordinate relationship. 3. The TAT (turn around time) in addressing the employee grievance. 4. Compensation and recognition on job. 5. Proper and transparent Appraisal and evaluations. 6. Communication from Top management and vice versa. If u see all these above factors will also make an employee decide on his/her future in the organization thus effecting the attrition.

Yes Employeee statisfaction and engagement is related to attrition.

The best way to address this is

1. Employee Engagement & Communication.

2. Transparency and visibility on what next.

3. Early discussion by Manager and highlighting what next both from short term and long term and also setting expectations highlighting  the constraints  & external factors that influence this plan

4. Empowerment on decision making

5. Role clarity and faciliting the employee to address any conflicts regarding this.

6. Providing the work which will help the employee to leverage and use multi skills and competencies he or she possess.
