Employee not working willfully..

Dear team,

If an employee willfully not working so that he get terminated and join the other company who have offers in hand. The present company cannot afford to pay what the MNC's are offering. If every  experienced employee follows the similar way, how we can retain employees. Some companies don't want relieving letter and experience letter from pervious companies.

During this scenario what HR person role should be?

I guess it first depends whether we want such a person to remain with us...

From the point of view of the individual, we have to appreciate that he considers another place a better prospect for his growth. and the present company should respect him in his decision, since there doesn't seem to be anything that he finds staying back worthwhile for.

however, it is a sad excuse for anyone that they take such a route to getting chucked out... wilfully deciding not to work is where the HR or the dept head should speak to him, and guide him on a better approach. if all are aware why he is behaving the way he is, viz. cuz he has another offer, then it only seems appropriate that he is told to continue to work as long as he remains in the company. and that he can leave, following whatever guidelines are set in your company. Why wud anyone want to get chucked out, when they have a choice open to them, of leaving of their own will?

i hope this is somewhat clear of my views.
