I would like to have suggestions for recording attendance of the Sales staff.

Can you pl provide your suggestions.

Make the Sales Manager / Team Manager responsible for recording leaves and the Sales Head should sign at the end of the month before forwarding the same to HR. How this works is that the attendance register for Sales team stays with the Sales dept. who ever comes in signs. The SM/TM marks the people "on duty" (employees going directly to clients) with his initials and those late or absent in red. End of the month he gives it to his boss (head of sales) to sign and then forwards the same to HR.

Go for exceptional recording, meaning if your work starts at 9am, who ever comes before 9 am will not have to sign in, only the people come after 9am will have to sign. The supervisor can subsequently inform if an employee is not coming to work

Just an idea only.
