if an employee is absent for more than 10 days without intimation, what is the rule applicable

A study must be conducted to ascertain the root cause of absenteeism. Consequently to evolve an action plan for countering the same which interalia must include some positive and innovative measures as enumerated below.

    i)  To counsel the chronic absentee and comprehend his issues humanly

  ii)   To view absenteeism seriously which means to give attendance more importance

 iii)   To institutionalise a system of recognising the employee coming in time

 iv)   A mail can be issued congratulating such employees who respect discipline

when an employee is absent for more than ten days without information than a show cause notice will be sent to employee's address to know that why he was absent from his duty duty than take further action on him.

I am completely agree with teh view of Prakash that "You can bring in attendance based awards / incentives. For example, there can be an Attendance Allowance every month which will reward only the people who have come to work on all working days of the month. "

But it should be based on days like 1 absent, 2 Absent
