Reg. Gratuity eligibility

Hello all,

Please clarify my doubt, If a person has continuous service for 4.9 months, is he/she is eligible for Gratuity?

Is 5 yrs is a minimum criteria?

Re: Reg. Gratuity eligibility

Hi

Does it apply to hospitals registered under society's act and are not for profit. Our organization is just 5 year old. What should be the prerequisites to initiate this welfare measure for employees. And what precautions should be taken. Please advise. Thanks

Madhu

Re: Reg. Gratuity eligibility

I have checked some citations and found that an employee who has had 4 years and 240 days of continuous service is eligible for gratuity.
