How much is your ATS useful to your organization?

Dear professionals,

ATS or an Applicant Tracking System is software designed to simplify our recruiting task for vacant job positions of our company. Such a system minimizes our recruiting efforts by sorting resumes, creating candidate’s data into searchable database based on our preferred criteria. We can therefore easily search for candidates that best fit our open positions and schedule an interview for the same. By using this software we do not have to rely on recruiting companies. 

Given that companies are using various ATS like BrassRing, Taleo, Success Factors etc., I would like to know how much of an impact does it really have on your recruiting efforts in your organization. Does it just remain a resume database or has it gone beyond to add realistic value to this process?

I am keen to have your views and discussion on this topic.

Dear Rehaan,

This is a very valid question indeed!

The way I see is that it heps  in individual applicant tracking, automated resume ranking, requisition tracking, pre-screening questions, response tracking and building an external candidate pool.

I'm also curious to know how the others are using this practically.
