Team empathy and responsiveness..
The other day I was meeting a staff member in the office. We were discussing few issues that were important to him when the phone rang.
I ignored it.
After few rings, he asked, “Won't you be taking the call ?”
I remarked, “No. I don’t know about that call is important or not, but it can wait. I do know this meeting is important”
Feeling valued, he had a big smile and we continued our conversation.
What we pay attention to, and how we respond to things matters a great deal to our team.
