Hi,

I have joined a company last year through a consultancy. In the offer letter its written that the notice period is 15 days, but now they are saying it is 15 business days. In that case i need to intimate them before 3 weeks (my office operates 5 days a week). But im in the impression that 15 days i.e., 2 weeks advance notice would be sufficient. I have another offer in hand and the joining date is 12days from now. My consultancy is forcing me to either serve the notice period of 15 business days or pay the amount to waive it off.
Please let me know whether it is legal not to consider the weekends in those 15 days notice period.
