Re: Meaning & Focus of Workforce Acquisition ??

Dear Sabi,

Just as Customer Acquisition describes the overall strategic process around identifying market sectors, targeting client prospects, running direct marketing campaigns, selling and receiving the order (i.e. acquiring a new customer), so Talent or Workforce Acquisition, as far as my knowledge goes, involves all the sub-processes around finding, attracting and engaging highly talented individuals into your organization.

You need comprehensive systems that integrate salaried, hourly and contingent recruiting and provide a panoramic view of potential sources and organizational issues - such as affirmative action compliance, compensation, demographics, etc. This comprehensive approach to the workforce management is known as Workforce Acquisition and is gaining ground among those organizations looking to maximize their human capital investments.

I too shall be glad if we could know something more on the above concept from other members...
