During my sesssions in Soft Skills, i often tell my audience that, in order to understand the other's point of view, one must get into his shoes. This is easier said than done, because we are hit strongly by the chatter inside our head before we even attempt to.Judgments, comparisons, analysis, all hit us 'Wham' in an instant even before the other person has stated his point. Only if this mental chatter is controlled, will we really be able to step into other's shoes and see life from a different perspective and empathise. |
