How does the management react ?

Dear Professionals,

I will be happy to receive any input on how management reacts when you bring to their notice about health Issues of your employees. Is there anything we can do on this? Are the management in general willing to listen?

A few points from my side.

A large number of employees are noted to be suffering from health issues out of which a few are listed below.

1. Obesity
2. High BP
3. Diabetes
4. Muscular Skeletal Problems
5. Eye related
6. Stress related

Most of the health issues are due to the practices at the job site. Long hours of working without enough exercise. Improper Postures. Fast food . And not the least stress at job.

What HR can do :

1. Motivate employees to exercise . Most of the big companies have gymnasiums or the company employees have access to the other gyms at very subsidized rates. It was found that the employees do not use the facility due to lack of time or interest.

2. Compulsory Medical Check up once a year. The company has to support the employees by which the recommendations can be practiced also.

3. Educate them on risks of sedentary life style and unhealthy eating habits.

4. Compulsory holidays. If an employee is working continuously without break even in the weekends for more than “n “ days, he / she should be sent on forced leave / holiday.
