Re: Background Checks
In our current organisation, I am using the following format for checking the background of any candidate or new joinee who has mentioned 2 names as reference in his/her employment form. Name of the candidate:
1) In what capacity were you associated with the candidate?
2) How long do you know the candidate?
3) In your opinion, what are some of the strengths/key competencies of the candidate? Will you like to comment on any specific attribute /quality?
4) What are some of the areas, which you will term as improvement areas? Do you think that the candidate is aware of his improvement areas?
5) Will you think that the current job /opportunity (for which ref being taken) will be a challenging one or will the candidate fit into the deliverables of such a role?
6) How did the candidate get on with his colleagues , subordinates and supervisors?
7) Any overall comments?
