Background Checks

Dear HR Colleagues,

Our organisation is interested in conducting reference check & background checks on prospective applicants. Could someone please suggest a good agency that you have been using that can help us in doing this.

Also if you could suggest some good trainer for conducting interview skills program for our line managers.

There is a Delhi based company by name Hill and Associates that does a good job. They operate in almost all the metros.Have worked with them in my previous company and would recommend. Regards Venitia cruz

1. Probe & 2. Onicra are the two companies we are using from past 4 yrs. they conduct verification PAN India & as per our requirements.

In our current organisation, I am using the following format for checking the background of any candidate or new joinee who has mentioned 2 names as reference in his/her employment form.

Name of the candidate:


1) In what capacity were you associated with the candidate?



2) How long do you know the candidate?



3) In your opinion, what are some of the strengths/key competencies of the candidate?
Will you like to comment on any specific attribute /quality?



4) What are some of the areas, which you will term as improvement areas?
Do you think that the candidate is aware of his improvement areas?


5) Will you think that the current job /opportunity (for which ref being taken) will be a challenging one or will the candidate fit into the deliverables of such a role?




6) How did the candidate get on with his colleagues , subordinates and supervisors?




7) Any overall comments?
