Career Management Program

Here are a few tips on how to go about developing a career management program

Career management services are designed to help both organizations and retained employees effectively handle career challenges.

- Define career development within an organization.
- Assess an organization’s needs.
- Custom design the program best suited to your firm.
- Promote the program internally.
- Guide employees step-by-step through the process.

Employee Development

Employee development is important to the success of the individual as well as to the company. Through our performance-feedback process, employees are able to create an Individual Development Plan to help them focus their efforts on areas that need the most development so they can improve and enhance their performance. The plan should include goal statements describing what skill, knowledge or experience will be developed, the rationale for why it's important to develop these areas and a list of activities that will be done to achieve the goals.

While completing and implementing a Career Development Plan can never guarantee success or promotion, increased skills and expertise will improve marketability, both inside and outside. The performance feedback process provides the structure and resources for assessing current skills, understanding the company's skill needs, establishing individual goals, and developing an action plan to meet goals and improve abilities.

Companies can provide the any of the following to help in the career management of an employee

Development Program

Newly hired employees should participate in a Development Program. The program should be designed to assist representatives at the start of their careers. It should include on the job-training components together self-directed training and formalized classroom training. In addition to gaining technical knowledge, employees can establish their own network throughout the organization.

The Employee Scholar Program

The Employee Scholar Program encourages eligible employees to develop additional skills and engage in lifelong learning at regionally accredited public or private colleges and universities. The Program should covers all tuition and academic fees for those who achieve the required grades.

Employee should also be entitled to paid time off for half their classroom hours per week (up to a maximum of 3 hours per week). Upon completion of your accredited degree program, employees should also be awarded by the company many companies award stock options.

Cheers

Re: Career Management Program

Career management shoud identify fast trackers - people with superior leadership, Potential and commitment to the org and ensure that they are encouraged to develop their potential to the maximum.  It should ensure that the succession plan is also in place for key positions.

Key quesitons facing Career management are:

Promote from within or recruit laterally;

Encourage uniformity or scope for diversity in skills, values, culture

Give importance to Seniority or pure meritocracy

Be numbers driven or quality/values driven in promotion decisions

Preference for young or middle-aged or older population
